Da anni, la fonè di Michele Pane accompagna i miei paesaggi, come una legge non scritta ma acquisita dai sensi, la forza di questo poeta travasa oltre la metrica, per riempirsi di nuovi motivi legati ad una rivolta delle braccia e delle passioni. Sappiamo di lui che fu costretto all’esilio americano per le sue idee di indipendenza, che fu cellula di collegamento di tanti poeti,socialisti,anarchici in fuga dalla Calabria, a cui ha permesso di varcare i cancelli della vergogna di Ellis Island, che chiamò sua figlia Libertà, il resto è sangue, parole come cunei, schiaffi o carezze di nuova appartenenza.
